Pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela in May 2018
In May 2018 the Diocese travelled to Northern Spain to visit Santiago de Compostela, organised by Fr Philip Austen. We were joined part-way through our pilgrimage by Bishop Mark and Monsignor Keith Mitchell. It was a wonderful pilgrimage. As well as Mass in the Cathedral in Santiago, we celebrated Mass in the little church where St James' body was taken into Santiago by his disciples, Athanasius and Theodore. Another highlight was the Cathedral in Oviedo which houses, among other relics, the Holy Sudarium which was used to wipe the face of our Lord.
